Please share advice for young women considering or starting a career in print… Which includes design, sales, marketing, and all jobs within.

Be a sponge! Soak up as much as you can from the people around you and the incredible wealth of resources available online. This is a huge industry that touches so many other markets and aspects of our lives, so you can really forge your own path. I didn’t see my career trajectory happening as it has but I’m very grateful to have had so many great opportunities in different areas of the industry, and had I taken a narrower view it may not have worked out how it has.

Also, don’t forget that even as a new person in any role or industry (or even in life generally) older or more experienced people can learn so much from you. Never underestimate your worth or the value you bring.

How have mentors helped your personal and career development?

In too many ways to count! Firstly just the act of mentorship and willingness to help me develop from so many people is so valuable, as it demonstrates not just faith in my abilities but also how many people are passionate about nurturing talent and investing in the future of the industry. Transparency is a big one – when people, mentors or otherwise, are open and honest about their own challenges and their own successes and give you space to do the same, it creates a supportive and encouraging environment.

I also don’t think I would be anywhere without having a number of people I can trust as a sounding board for ideas or problems. There are plenty around so don’t be afraid to ask for help.
