Did you choose print or did print choose you?
Since all the entry-level TV production positions seem to be unpaid internships, I landed my first job as a production manager for a trade magazine in Boston. I was responsible to work with editorial and sales and layout of the entire magazine. Back when a stripper was not someone on a pole, I was responsible to proof and ship the negatives for each page of the magazine to a web printer in Chicago. And when I got my first printed issue with my name in the masthead I was hooked.
How do you establish credibility with colleagues, clients and bosses?
As a consultant establishing credibility is my mission. I focus on preparing for meetings and asking hard questions to help clients and colleagues think strategically. I listen for the whys to get to the root cause of complex issues. And being honest about outcomes and results is my foundation for establishing credibility and providing value to clients.
In 50 words or less tell us your mission for elevating Print this year.
I plan to elevate print by educating more marketing folks about the power of print in driving digital and online activity. Relevant direct mail and smart packaging are proving to foster engagement and drive consumers to make online decisions for all kinds of products and services. Marketers win with print.
