Firstly, I’d like to introduce myself, I’m Fairouz Galal, currently working as an Export Advisor for the Printing and Packaging sector in USAID Trade Reform & Development in Egypt (TRADE). I am responsible for almost 40 Printing and Packaging companies. With over 21 years of experience in Export, International Trade, International Marketing, and Logistics, the core industries of packaging are well-represented in my background.
I first learned about Girls Who Print at the drupa exhibition in 2024, where I met Deborah Corn from Print Media Centr and a founder of the Girls Who Print community during one of the drupa DNA sessions. She invited me to attend the “Meet & Greet” networking event at the Mimaki B.V. stand. Learning more about this community was truly inspiring—it was incredible to see a community dedicated to women working in all areas of the printing and packaging industries.
An idea sparked in my mind: I wanted to join this community and help empower women in this demanding field, especially since I have experienced a challenging career path and know what it entails.
After months of following Girls Who Print, I learned from Deborah that they are launching Girls Who Print EMEA and want to establish a presence in this region. I had a fantastic meeting with the wonderful Kelly Mallozzi, where we agreed that I would handle building Girls Who Print’s presence in this region, mentoring the amazing women working in the Printing and Packaging industries here.
Looking back, I see this as a turning point in my professional life. Creating such a community in our region will greatly support many women in this field.
So, here I am, giving a shout-out to all the ladies working in the packaging and printing industries – you are more than welcome to join the Girls Who Print community. Reach out to us and let us know if you want to be a mentor or a mentee, and what you expect and need, and we will contact you.

I believe that we will build a strong community in the EMEA region with a significant impact on our industries, not only for women working in it.
This was an introduction to myself, how I discovered Girls Who Print, and the announcement of our EMEA presence launch. Now, let me know the first topic you want me to discuss in my next article.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
