What does empowerment mean to you as a woman in printing?
Empowerment in the printing industry means redefining limits, embracing leadership, and creating growth opportunities. It’s about using creativity and strategy to drive innovation, often trailblazing while fostering collaboration and inclusion.
Can you share a moment in your career when you felt truly empowered?
The times in my career when I felt most empowered were when I led or contributed to projects where everyone involved brought a positive, can-do attitude. There was a clear goal; each person contributed with trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to success. We had structure and the flexibility to adapt, working within budget and deadlines while supporting each other’s ideas. The encouragement and alignment of minds made the process just as rewarding as the outcome, proving that true empowerment comes not just from the work itself, but from the people who make it happen.
What resources or programs have helped you grow in your career that you would recommend to young women?
Resources are everywhere. Seek and you will find. Here are some I have gravitated towards in recent years: Graphic Media Alliance, Girls Who Print Mentorship Program, Women In Print Alliance, Women for Economic and Leadership Development (WELD), experienced colleagues, former co-workers, friends, local business associations, local chambers of commerce, LinkedIn groups, university and career tech programs, former teachers and advisors, leadership coaching groups, industry leaders and partners, suppliers, vendors, clients, etc.
