What does empowerment mean to you as a woman in printing?
As a woman in the printing industry, I believe empowerment comes from being respected and trusted. When you have the knowledge, experience, and a proven track record of delivering results, collaboration, and understanding the business, you gain confidence and influence. Equally important is recognizing when you don’t have all the answers and being open to learning. Earning respect in the industry can open doors, create opportunities, and drive success.
Can you share a moment in your career when you felt truly empowered?
I feel empowered every day through the autonomy I have within my company. I am trusted to get the job done—on time, accurately, and without supervision. Colleagues know they can rely on me for support, no matter how busy I am, and I take pride in contributing to the growth and enhancement of our company’s offerings. Additionally, I feel empowered by being part of an incredible team of women and men who embody the best aspects of our organization.
That said, one standout moment was being chosen as a panelist at the PINE Women in Print event. It was an honor to sit alongside accomplished women in the industry and engage with a room full of talented professionals. Sharing our journeys into print, exchanging experiences, and enjoying a few laughs together was truly an empowering experience.
What resources or programs have helped you grow in your career that you would recommend to young women?
For young women starting in the print industry, I recommend first understanding the resources available within your company. You won’t know everything—and that’s okay. What’s important is knowing who to turn to for answers. Building relationships with knowledgeable colleagues will not only help you learn and grow but also strengthen your professional network and foster valuable working relationships.
