What does empowerment mean to you as a woman in printing?
Empowerment means embracing the knowledge, confidence, and authority I’ve earned with over two decades in the print industry as a Distributor and currently as a Supplier. It’s about owning my expertise and using it to inspire change, lead with influence, and advocate for myself and others in this male-dominated space. In my role as Midwest & Great Lakes Territory Sales Manager at Ultraflex Systems Inc., I am empowered to be a key connector between printers and the resources they need to create show-stopping signage, ensuring my influence helps shape the industry’s quality standards and progress.
Can you share a moment in your career when you felt truly empowered?
I have felt empowered most of my career from educating and introducing new products and solutions that have revolutionized how customers approach their projects. By working closely with clients to identify a gap in their market, collaborating with my team to develop a unique media or textile solution, and then seeing the final product come to life by our talented clients as they create stunning, impactful signage.
The sense of empowerment came from realizing how my expertise and insights directly contributed to my customers’ success, as well as to the industry’s evolution. Witnessing our customers’ creativity take flight with the tools we helped provide reaffirms my role and Ultraflex Systems Inc., as an essential partner and innovator.
What resources or programs have helped you grow in your career that you would recommend to young women?
I have been blessed to work alongside several excellent, strong and inspiring women throughout my career and have learned so much from them. I believe that by far, networking with other likeminded women professionals is extremely beneficial. I have found time and again, and now more than ever, women are bonding together to help each other, lift one another up and cheer each other on. It’s an amazing feeling and that is truly empowering.
