What does empowerment mean to you?

Empowerment for me means to be confident. Whether it be in my abilities or myself, I am confident to have the freedom to make my own decisions and use my voice to fight for my own beliefs. Empowerment also includes emotional resilience, the ability to set boundaries, and access to education and opportunities that help me grow. That is what I believe empowerment to be.

What motivates you to achieve success?

My family motivates me to achieve success. I understand as a first generation Moroccan American, my parents have fought to give me a life in the States, and it is something I should not take for granted. I want to make my parents’ efforts worth it and give them the break they deserve.

How do you think women in male-dominated industries, like printing, can support each other?

Women in male-dominated industries like printing can support each other by mentoring and sharing advice, creating networks where they can help each other grow. They can encourage one another, celebrate each other’s achievements, and boost each other’s confidence. Working together to push for equal treatment and better opportunities is also really important. By making safe spaces to talk about challenges and collaborating on projects, women can help each other succeed. This kind of support not only helps them individually but also inspires others and helps make the industry more inclusive.
