What does empowerment mean to you as a woman in printing?
Empowerment, to me, as a woman in printing, means having the opportunity to be heard, respected, and valued for my skills and contributions. It’s about breaking down stereotypes and challenging the idea that certain roles are for men only. As a woman in this industry, empowerment also means creating space for others like me to grow and succeed, fostering an environment where we can take on leadership roles and make impactful decisions. It’s about being confident in my abilities, continuously learning, and inspiring other women to pursue careers in areas where they may not have seen themselves represented before.
Can you share a moment in your career when you felt truly empowered?
When Walsworth acquired my previous company, Documation, on January 1 of this year, they made it clear to me that they valued my 20+ years of experience in the industry. I take great pride in my work, leveraging my expertise in graphic design, prepress, estimating, account management, and sales to serve both clients and colleagues. The support and resources provided by our management team are instrumental in my success, empowering me to perform at my best for myself, my family, my colleagues, and our clients. Their commitment to my professional growth and development is truly motivating and empowering!
What resources or programs have helped you grow in your career that you would recommend to young women?
I would advise young women to view every interaction with colleagues and clients as an opportunity for growth. You are surrounded by individuals with invaluable expertise and experience that you will NEVER acquire on your own. While resources like LinkedIn Learning and Sandler Training have been instrumental in my development, I encourage young women to adopt a mindset of continuous learning. The opportunity to learn is present in every situation and through every individual you meet, making it essential to embrace a lifestyle of ongoing personal and professional growth
