What does empowerment mean to you as a woman in printing?
Empowerment, especially as a woman in the printing industry, means having the confidence, knowledge, and opportunities to break through the barriers that have historically limited women in many technical and manufacturing fields. It’s about gaining equal access to leadership roles, decision-making positions, and recognition for the work we do. Ultimately, empowerment means feeling respected, valued, and supported in my expertise, while also being part of a movement that encourages growth.
Can you share a moment in your career when you felt truly empowered?
What resources or programs have helped you grow in your career that you would recommend to young women?
The resources that have had the most impact throughout my career have been the knowledge and guidance passed down by senior industry professionals combined with my commitment to self-education. Senior mentors with years of experience in the print industry offer invaluable insights, not only into the technical aspects but also into the history and evolution of the print industry, as well as how to navigate challenges. Couple that priceless information with prioritizing constant education is the key to career growth. For young women looking to grow in their print careers, I’d recommend seeking out mentorship, whether formal or informal, and dedicating time to continuous learning. The combination of both can truly elevate your career and help you navigate the challenges you might face along the way.
