What does empowerment mean to you as a woman in printing?
Empowerment is a two-way street. I want to empower everyone around me by providing opportunities, guiding to education opportunities, and supporting goals. I want to be empowered by the people around me with their support, learning opportunities, and engagement.
Can you share a moment in your career when you felt truly empowered?
There have been many, but one involved a VP of a company I was exiting for a new opportunity. She took me aside and reminded me that she would always be available for phone calls or emails if I needed guidance in our industry, and to remember to do the same with those I work with. Good advice.
What resources or programs have helped you grow in your career that you would recommend to young women?
Always pay attention to the people around you to test the winds of change. Read the newsletters and trade magazines. When you can, go to local and national meetings. Keep in touch with both your local print associations and the associations covering the industry segments you serve.
