What does empowerment mean to you as a woman in printing?
To me, empowerment means active and visible support. Sometimes as a woman, we may second guess ourselves, our choices, our leadership and more, and to have the support of others, especially other women in the industry, truly empowers me to continue to lead and grow. It’s also important to provide that support to others, like my awesome team, and let them know when they’re on the right track. This level of support empowers them to complete their jobs confidently and to the best of their ability.
Can you share a moment in your career when you felt truly empowered?
In 2024 ACE Media celebrated our 5 year anniversary. When sharing the news, it was so empowering to receive all the support and congratulations from our connections over the years and look back at how far we’ve come. It’s important to take time to celebrate your achievements and in turn, you’ll feel empowered with all you’ve accomplished and inspired to pursue new milestones.
What resources or programs have helped you grow in your career that you would recommend to young women?
The FTA’s Women of Flexo has helped me expand my network and grow as a thought leader in the Flexo industry. Also using the resources from the Flexographic Technical Association has increased my confidence in my technical ability within Flexo and empowered me to participate in more conversations with industry leaders, confidently. Overall, my advice to young women in the industry is to learn all that you can and get involved in different associations, committees and groups like Girls Who Print and Women of Flexo. With the right knowledge and connections, you can go very far in this industry!
