What does empowerment mean to you as a woman in printing?

As a woman in printing, doing a business that is well dominated by the male gender is something that one needs to stand on 10 toes.

Empowerment to me means having the courage and strength to push harder. As a lady in printing, being empowered in the printing space means giving me a platform to stand on, an experience to work with, knowledge to scale with and equipment to work faster with, while giving access to large scale market and tips on how to calculate the market share of the printing industry and how to benefit from it as a woman, without allowing the challenges weigh me down.

Can you share a moment in your career when you felt truly empowered?

I have had many empowering moments but one stands out for me. A certain time in 2024, while still going to my learning place to master the use of my printing skills and also learn how to operate the printing machines. Due to my dedication and presentation of my printing skills, a follower reached out to me to brand for their company and they needed it in two days… the deal was around 1.7m Naira ($1,100 USD).

This happened to be the first time I was getting paid that much for a printing job, I was overwhelmed with the way she trusted me with such a big project, even without meeting me, I prayed and took the job, told myself, if others can do it, so can I. And in two days, all 1,000 copies were ready and delivered on time. I also posted it on my Instagram profile. She was so pleased with my job and she referred me to more companies,

I have always wanted to work with and make more personal connections. I felt motivated and got a heat press for my business to help make my work easier instead of outsourcing it. That single referral opened many doors for me and my revenue skyrocketed more than my target.

What resources or programs have helped you grow in your career that you would recommend to young women?

To every determined young woman aspiring to grow, I will recommend you first of all have a positive mindset and an “I can do it” mentality.
Also dedication and commitment, while implementing SMART WORK where necessary. I have leveraged the power of social media and learnt how to grow on social media through YouTube and communities.

I have also enrolled in physical classes for the field I am into to acquire more knowledge to help me scale through and keep up with innovative technology in my field. These few things have helped me stand firm and as an authority in my field, speaking with much knowledge about prints by pounds everywhere I go.

My Aim, to build a global printing brand that creates awareness about branding, make it easy for people to easily order packaging items without leaving the comfort of their home, and empowering the girl child with the impact I strive to make in business.
