What does empowerment mean to you as a woman in printing?
Empowerment as a woman in the printing market means overcoming the barriers of sexism, having an active voice and power of action, where the market is predominantly male.
Can you share a moment in your career when you felt truly empowered?
In 2011, I was working in the technical support department for converters at one of the largest American companies manufacturing self-adhesives.
I was assigned to go to a large printing company to do printing tests on a new raw material. I was very young, in my 20s, when I arrived at the room, there were only men present, one of them saw me and asked if I knew what I was doing there. Not only did I know, but in the end, we did a great job together. We tested the new raw material, and in a short time, the new material was approved.
What resources or programs have helped you grow in your career that you would recommend to young women?
Technical courses in your area, always be aware of new trends and technologies. Knowledge will always bring empowerment where there are inequalities.
