How do you help customers and partners succeed with their print and marketing endeavors?

After working in plastics distribution for over 20+ years I decided I wanted to focus on educating, sharing experiences, and discussing sustainable solutions to the tables of marketing firms, print houses and brands and propose ideas implementing sustainable materials for graphics, sign, display, expo, marcomms, and building & construction.  I knew there were brands and companies out in the world that are making a difference to bring down the C02 emissions and focus on lean manufacturing processes.  However, the idea to use more sustainable materials in the print world would positively impact our planet immediately.  It is my passion project to offer and present alternative sustainable solutions wherever printing or design is being done.  Today, most Fortune 500 companies employ a sustainable director with departments focusing on sustainability.  Unfortunately, most of those companies are hiring data-driven firms to help them assess air quality, recycling methods, and manufacturing processes.  This is a very important step, and I am happy to see it evolving.   However, if these brands and companies focused on what type of materials are being printed or fabricated today – this is where the impact would be immediate.  I want to help them by showing what could be used versus using plastics.

What ONE word describes your professional mission for 2023 – and why?

Bravery – For me, leaving a company after 20+ years was tough.  I knew I wanted to take what I have learned to use my experience and create a new journey to grow.  More importantly, I had to reach deep down and listen to that little voice inside me to take a leap of faith instead of staying comfortable.  I was talking about sustainability over 10 years ago while traveling all over the country.  And, at that time no one really wanted to make the change.  Most clients saw it as costly to change and although some clients wanted to do it; most thought it best to continue to create using the same materials – no harm in staying the same.  It takes bravery to be different and create change.  Heck, it takes bravery to knock on doors and get some of the doors closed on you.  But with every step I take from today forward, I will lean in on the bravery and the little voice that continues to tell me don’t give up!  Keep using my voice and creating solutions to spread this message.
