I’m tasked with identifying and cultivating new business opportunities within the print and direct mail sector. My daily responsibilities involve prospecting and engaging potential clients, understanding their unique needs, and effectively communicating how our print and direct mail solutions can enhance their business operations. Building and nurturing relationships with key decision-makers is a key aspect of my job, and I constantly stay informed about industry trends through market research. Collaboration with the sales team is integral as we work together to create and implement effective strategies. My focus is on building a robust pipeline to contribute significantly to our company’s success in expanding its presence in the print and direct mail market.

What investments have you made in your professional career development?

In 2022, I proactively invested in my professional career development by returning to school to pursue a marketing degree. This decision was particularly strategic, considering the dynamic nature of the business landscape. I aimed to bolster my skills and knowledge to remain competitive and stay current with the latest trends in marketing.

Additionally, during this period of academic pursuit, a significant professional transition took place. Following the acquisition of my company by marketing.com, I embraced the opportunity to further apply and expand my newly acquired marketing knowledge. Accepting the role of a Business Development Representative (BDR) within the restructured organization, I leveraged my educational background to bring a fresh perspective to the post-acquisition phase. This dual investment, both in education and adapting to a new role in the acquired company, has significantly contributed to my holistic professional growth and adaptability in the ever-evolving marketing landscape.

What investments have you made in your personal development?

Over the years, I’ve invested in various aspects of personal development. This includes obtaining a marketing degree in 2022 to stay current in my field. Additionally, I’ve consistently acquired new skills through workshops and training, prioritized networking for valuable connections, and maintained physical and mental well-being. Regular reading, goal setting, seeking feedback, and staying technologically proficient round out my holistic approach to personal development. These investments aim to enhance both my professional capabilities and overall life satisfaction.

How can the industry proactively invest in women, and why should this be a priority?

To proactively invest in women in the industry, companies can prioritize equal opportunities, representation, and educational programs. Flexible work policies, mentorship initiatives, and skill development tailored for women contribute to a more inclusive environment. Transparent pay practices, robust parental leave policies, and fostering a respectful workplace culture are essential. Representation in decision-making bodies and providing networking opportunities further support women’s advancement. This prioritization is crucial for fostering innovation, improving business performance, attracting top talent, meeting customer needs, and aligning with social responsibility, making it both an ethical imperative and a strategic necessity.
