What do you do?
Collaborate with printers, designers, brands, and manufacturers to recommend the best substrates to create the best solutions and applications. I thrive on understanding a project from beginning to end. Having over 30+ years of experience in the printing industry and understanding various print technologies allows me to offer advice and solutions. I NEVER stop learning, the best thing about this industry is how it continues to evolve.
What investments have you made in your professional career development?
Time is one of the most valuable things we have, so using it wisely will have the most impact. I lock into industry groups as well as verticals that our customers support. Webinars, trade shows, subscriptions to newsletters, and co-visits with customers and their clients. All have been so beneficial and I hold myself accountable to ensure I optimize and document what I’ve learned so I can pull out of my “toolbox” at any given moment.
What investments have you made in your personal development?
I believe in self-care, a fun fact not many know, I’m a Certified Medicinal Aromatherapist. The importance of balance in my life is a priority. Physically, Mentally and Spiritually. I’ve completed various trainings, in-person retreats, and integrative programs. I strive to be at my best so I can bring forth into my personal and business life.
How can the industry proactively invest in women, and why should this be a priority?
Creating intern and apprentice “paying” programs for women is key to creating opportunity. Many companies and brands are adapting the ESG and diversity programs and this is a great start to introduce candidates to see what part of the print industry they are interested in and thrive in. I’ve always believed that doing and learning offer the best depth and understanding and make the best leaders. I was so incredibly blessed to have smart, strong women who guided and mentored me from the age of 15. Their training and passion for this industry were a big part of why I am here… I love print!!
