Kirsten Noyola Manager, Print Services, CHRISTUS Health Print Services
LinkedIn Profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kirstennoyola
What do you do?
I manage prepress and production at the in-plant centralized print shop at CHRISTUS Health.
What investments have you made in your professional career development?
I have invested in my career development by learning from seasoned industry mentors through organizations such as IPMA and Girls who Print. As well as industry conferences, podcasts, education platforms and serving on local college Advisory Councils to help curate the curriculum for designers learning the prepress field.
What investments have you made in your personal development?
I have invested in my personal development by reading books such as ‘The Making of a Manager by Julie Zhuo’ to help discover what type of leader I will be. As well as mentoring and encouraging the next generation of designers through local high schools programs.
How can the industry proactively invest in women, and why should this be a priority?
The print industry can proactively invest in women by supporting them in all stages of their career. Whether we are entering the very intimidating printing industry or have watched it develop for the last 50 years, we need to help each other at all levels. This is such a priority because there is so much experience and knowledge in the industry but not many entry-level positions or trade school training opportunities.
