What do you do?
At one point my answer to what do I do would have been Graphic Designer. But as times and needs have changed in my company, I have evolved into a Graphic Designer/Web/Videographer/Print Nut.
I have tried every day to stretch and learn more about print, the construction of print, and how I can make our printed pieces go through our plant more efficiently.
To me, a day without learning something new is a day wasted. Always strive to be better!
What investments have you made in your professional career development?
Always be learning is my motto and I try to keep up to date with print via LinkedIn and their various courses. I also ask as many questions as possible, it’s never too late to learn something new.
What investments have you made in your personal development?
I honestly need to work on this more. I have tried meditating and have attempted not to have a “fixed mindset” for everything I do at work and home.
How can the industry proactively invest in women, and why should this be a priority?
Most times, when people hear that you are in the print industry, they envision how print was done years ago. It should be our goal to promote print and show that it’s for everyone. I would love to see trade schools come back to our high schools. This is where I learned about not only graphic design but how the print industry works.
