Did you choose print or did print choose you?
I think print chose me. I have been a software engineer and in the year 2009 while working on some eCommerce projects, my team got a chance to work on an eCommerce website that allowed customers to personalize t-shirts artwork before ordering it. From there our journey of working with decorated apparel printers started and I never looked back as printing industry was enchanting and we slowly started working with commercial printers, wide format printers and now we serve to almost all sort of print service providers from packaging & labels, digital textiles to 3D printers. We now have the world’s leading web-to-print and print commerce solutions with value-added services to help printing businesses go online and improve customers’ print buying experience.
How do you establish credibility with customers, colleagues and bosses?
Much of the credit goes to our “Customer First” approach and we make sure printers of all sizes and their end-customers have hassle-free and successful adoption of web-to-print and personalization. Also, our customers are our biggest testimony, and most of our business comes from word of mouth. Innovative products built with cutting-edge technologies have helped us to stay ahead of the competition. And our people-centric work culture and equal opportunity principle for all our employees has helped us to build a cohesive and dedicated team.
What advice can you offer regarding negotiating salary raises/ addressing fair pay issues?
In my opinion, your efficiency at work to fulfill your responsibilities and dedication speaks for all. Negotiate your salary based on the value you add when you are part of the team and never accept anything less than you deserve.
What advice did you receive early in your career that you wished you had followed?
I still can’t forget the advice given to me by one of my mentors in early career, that said – “prove your worth by doing better than what any of your male peers can do, and you won’t have to worry about fair pay anymore.” I followed it like a success mantra in whatever role I have worked to date and it has proven to be true.
