What do you do?

In my new Brand Innovation role, I create education content, plan training sessions, and design sample kits for brands and designers to better understand the benefits of digital embellishment. I’ve worked in the world of embellishments for nearly 10 years now and love sharing the world of finishing in the industry. It’s my passion to push print forward; working with other innovators to imagine what can be created through new technologies.

What investments have you made in your professional career development?

I’ve attended a lot of online conferences, seminars, and other education programs to better understand my concepts of production design as well as to keep my finger on the pulse of packaging and marketing.

What investments have you made in your personal development?

In my personal development, and unrelated to print, I attended and received my black belt in American Free Style karate, I’ve worked on pushing my knowledge of art techniques and have experimented with different mediums. I’ve been pushing myself to do more art and participate more in the art community locally.

How can the industry proactively invest in women, and why should this be a priority?

The industry could support more education facilities in creating scholarships and coaching for women to enter the print industry. There could be more inclusivity training for print production environments. Publications and affiliates can spotlight women already making a difference. A coffee table book of the history of women and print would be great!
