What do you do?

I love being a print producer and educating myself and others about what is possible in our industry. I’m active in the Austin chapter of the American Advertising Federation, and enjoying my role as immediate past president.

What investments have you made in your professional career development?

I attend industry events and soak up all the knowledge I can. I find that people are generous with their time and willing to answer questions and share their knowledge. My job is different every day and I often research and reach out to my network to find solutions. I consider growing my network an investment and helping others in this way is rewarding and helps make our industry stronger.

What investments have you made in your personal development?

In my volunteer work, I’ve expanded my knowledge base of digital production, event planning, social media, and public speaking. It’s pushed my boundaries and increased my confidence.

How can the industry proactively invest in women, and why should this be a priority?

Investing in women in print is SO important! Having a woman in the room can increase the success of projects and of companies overall. Women bring needed viewpoints and skills. The industry should be investing in education and hiring of women, particularly women of color. Once hired, these women should be given training and opportunities to grow their skills and confidence. A leadership track should be identified so there is representation at senior and executive levels as well.

The Girls Who Print mentorship program is a great example of ways we can bring more young women into our industry and help them grow their careers. My photo includes my mentee, Emily Simon, who is a rockstar print enthusiast!
