What do you do?

As a Senior Account Executive at Taylor Corporation, I am devoted to creating lasting and effective partnerships with strategic e-commerce companies looking for print fulfillment. Because of Taylor Corporation’s vast portfolio, I can provide unparalleled product offerings that can be produced across the country. The relationships I get to build and foster are beyond amazing and make my role different every day. From pitching existing product ideas to managing day-to-day workflow, I am a one-stop resource for my partners. I pride myself in being a subject matter expert in all things that we produce including print on paper and even envelope manufacturing – there is always something new to learn from one of our 90+ companies!

What investments have you made in your professional career development?

Being willing to raise my hand for any new project or opportunity has propelled my knowledge of the industry and our internal workings in the largest way possible. By simply saying “YES!” I have been privileged to work alongside so many amazing, smart people who have been more than willing to share their experiences and expertise with me. Because our corporation is so vast, with many employees having extreme longevity, I have been lucky to have a large pool of mentors right at my fingertips. I have worked hard to always find something to learn from any colleague I have been paired up with. In addition to internal growth and development practices at Taylor, I was selected to participate in a local Leadership Development course that connected me with other members of my community who shared the same hunger for growth. This program offered insights into leadership styles and taught me to focus on my emotional intelligence more broadly.

What investments have you made in your personal development?

As a New Year’s Eve resolution in 2022, I committed myself that I would read at least 1 personal or professional development book each month (in between all of the other books I was reading for fun!). There are so many different books that have so many relevant lessons to be learned in life – at home and in the office. Because I was dedicated to a personal goal that extended beyond the workplace, I pushed myself to read a variety of topics – from learning how to unplug from technology to being brave! Books are a relatively inexpensive way to continue education beyond a classroom!

How can the industry proactively invest in women, and why should this be a priority?

The print industry has more and more female leaders showing up – I am beyond excited to see this continue. As I attended DSCOOP in St. Louis last year, I witnessed a panel of women who were all senior leaders within their companies. They absolutely crushed it and positively represented all professional females. In 2021, a group of 5 amazing, powerhouse gals connected at Taylor Corporation to form a pilot program for women in our organization. From this pilot of 80, the group has now grown to over 600 women across our entire network. The goal – is to help connect, develop, grow and support women in all stages of their careers at our organization. We meet in multiple capacities from small group mentoring sessions, book clubs, and panel discussions to large groups with guest speakers. It is a wonderful group and such a benefit to all females who work for Taylor. By investing in women in the print industry, we are breaking down barriers and having more women pull up a chair at the table. By offering a professional organization that focuses on the development of women, the women who make it to the table have the huge backing of others rooting for them, cheering them on and ensuring they feel supported. This should continue as a priority as more generations of women show up to earn their seats at the table. Women supporting women is an absolutely beautiful thing.
