Please share advice for young women considering or starting a career in print… Which includes design, sales, marketing, and all jobs within.

We are a web to print company specializing in stationery products for business and consumer use.  Women with experience in SEO, design, and digital advertising will find unique opportunities in the world of print today. Web to print companies are highly dependent on Google rankings and the ability to identify and follow trends is essential. Education and/or experience in brand management is a crucial skill needed if you choose to team with a company in growth mode. There is also an incredible need at the management level on the production side of a printing company.  Organizational skills, team building, and problem-solving, are all areas where women are playing a critical role.

How have mentors helped your personal and career development?

I have been fortunate to have several mentors throughout my career.  They taught me that surrounding myself with people of integrity and a standard of excellence was essential to reaching the goals I would set. The role of CEO has allowed me to offer unique working opportunities for women that want a career and to raise a family in an environment where they feel valued for their abilities.

We have found that pivoting so that certain positions can work remotely, or creating work schedules that allow for women to work when their children are in school, affords us the ability to hire talented and trusted employees that may not have been available without these scenarios in place.

We have chosen to give back by hiring high schoolers in our manufacturing plant part-time who may not be on a college track. This gives us the opportunity to mentor and comes alongside them in a unique way and many of them have chosen to join us full time after high school graduation.

Living with the mentality of “we are blessed to be a blessing” are words, my favorite mentor, my mom, instilled in me decades ago. Those words are powerful and a mindset that I try to lead with on both a personal and professional level.
