Please share advice for young women considering or starting a career in print… Which includes design, sales, marketing and all jobs within.

My advice for young women is to find a great mentor who can lead you in new directions, introduce you to new people, and share your journey with you. Find a mentor who is passionate about seeing you succeed as well as knowledgeable in the field. Ask to shadow that person, ask A LOT of questions, set up meetings with vendors and learn all you can about the industry. This will help you to narrow down the direction you are most interested in. Then, work on your personal brand and never stop learning.

How have mentors helped your personal and career development?

Mentors have helped me in nearly every level of my career. Some have been formal mentors as part of a program and some have been coworkers who became friends and by default, mentors. It has always been important that my best mentors have pushed me to try uncomfortable things because it’s through uncomfortable things that we grow both personally and in a career. It’s ok to be scared as hell. It’s not ok to give up.
