Please share advice for young women considering or starting a career in print… Which includes design, sales, marketing and all jobs within.

My advice is for them to try everything – you never know what area of print will be your best fit! Seek out opportunities to meet women already working in the industry, and don’t be afraid to ask them real questions about their experiences. If you get the chance to – tour a few companies and see their workflow in action. The more exposure you get to the industry, the better as you start or consider a career in print!

How have mentors helped your personal and career development?

Mentors have greatly impacted my personal and career development. When I was in school, GCOM faculty members like Shaun Dudek went above and beyond in mentoring me and showing me the many options for my future. Shaun helped me discover my true passion for the industry and hone my professional skills.

Now in the workplace, my supervisor Emily Schultz has been an incredible mentor. She allows me to try new learning opportunities, supports my ideas, and fosters an environment of continuous improvement. She leads our team so well, and I’ve grown so much under her guidance!
